For a decade now, the language industry has been increasingly dominated by machines.
It's sad, but simple translations are now AI's territory and there's no going back. Yes, it's true that it still doesn't work for 100% of texts, because AI can barely understand emotion or certain expressions at all.
Let me tell you about something that happened to us recently.
One day, a multinational agency contacted us (me and every official German translator – and, I imagine, translators of every language under the sun) asking us to work for them as sworn translators for the wages of a slave in ancient Greece.
They tried to intimidate us by saying we were finished and that AI does the work of thousands of sworn translators, and much better than some of them.
Obviously, we all refused as one.
Every sector is working with AI. The official translators of the European Parliament work with pre-translated texts and then carry out a thorough revision, and in many cases they have to change practically the whole text. Still, it does help, and it saves time.
The last bastion of human resistance to the technological invasion is the official translator, who has studied and passed a state exam to qualify, and who certifies any translated document that needs to be official with their personal, non-transferable stamp.
These professionals are backed by each country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and their work is limited to the languages they passed in their exam. At Learndix, we pay close attention to the nationalities of our sworn translators (a Russian translating into Spanish is not the same as one translating from Spanish into Russian).
We can help you with any sworn translations you need. Even documents for the most unusual medicines, which, believe me, can be quite complicated.
